 What is Nutrition Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care (British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy - BANT). A registered Nutritional Therapist utilities a wide range of tools to assess and identify underlying causes of symptoms and potential nutritional imbalances, offering insight into how these may have contributed to an individual’s symptoms.

Nutrition Therapy practice is a complimentary therapy that is appropriate for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and well-being. Practitioners work with clients to recommend appropriate personalized nutrition and lifestyle programmes, taking into consideration any possible drug-nutrient interactions, client requirements, personal circumstances, physical, environmental and emotional stressors and varying financial circumstances.

Recommendations made to help:

•Support gastrointestinal health, digestion and absorption of foods,  gut microflora

•Support detoxification capacity and liver health

•Promote hormone and neurotransmitter balance

•Balance blood sugar levels.

•Improve Energy levels

•Improve symptoms of Allergies and intolerances

Dietary advice

I specialise in working with women who want to optimise their hormonal health by providing dietary & lifestyle advice.

I work by educating, empowering and inspire you to take control of your health. I enjoy working and supporting women through all 7 hormonal stages of life, as well as prior and after pregnancy, helping busy mums regain their health and wellbeing. As a busy working mum myself, I am aware of the demands of motherhood and how challenging it may be to find time to relax, eat healthily and get enough sleep, and understand hat havoc this can cause on health.  My approach is to carefully support clients to achieve their goals whilst being realistic about everyone’s situation. I like to offer help and advice that is achievable and fits with your lifestyle. I am continually learning and developing my knowledge in order to be able to offer the best and most up to date advice available.

I will work with you to get to the root cause of your health concern and put together a tailored nutrition and lifestyle plan to help you rediscover your vitality, wellness and fertility

I can help you!

As a Nutritional Therapist, NLP Coach and Reiki Practitioner, balancing hormones is an important part of achieving optimal health. I work with women of all ages in order to help them achieve their health goals, by optimising their hormonal health, helping then to achieve balance in their lives, in order to help them to experience improved health and vitality. I use the very best nutrition science combined with personal health coaching to offer the most comprehensive level of support in your fertility journey

My therapy is supported by a deep understanding of hormonal issues as someone who has been affected by PMS from puberty, two pregnancies, thyroid cancer and now entering the peri menopausal and menopausal stages has led to many hormonal ups and down. My experiences personally and my clinic work professionally has helped me understand female health giving the knowledge and understanding to develop a clear strategy to develop a personalised plan to help each individual patient through their hormonal rollercoaster.

PMS–has been found to affect up to 80% of women. Most of the symptoms are associated with an imbalance of female hormones (oestrogen/progesterone) Typical symptoms include: mood swings, bloating, water retention, breast tenderness, irritability, weight gain, anxiety, irregular cycles, ,insomnia, change in sex drive, back pain or skin eruptions.

There are many natural ways to keep your hormones in balance during the menstrual cycle, peri-menopausal and menopausal stage. Consuming a healthy varied diet is key to optimal health,  because hormones are made from food and certain nutrients are required for the production of different hormones. The body's ability to keep hormones in balance depends upon key nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and essential fats, whilst hormone friendly herbs can also be beneficial. However how well you digest, absorb and detoxify is also important too, as well as addressing any food intolerances, keeping well hydrated, managing stress and regular physical activity.
